BSI has started work on what is called a ‘publicly available specification’ PAS182, which will establish a model for data interoperability.
Development of PAS 182 has been initiated to tackle the semantic barriers to information flows around a smart city, including the interoperability of systems and data sharing between agencies. The PAS will be developed from concepts from the public service concept model (PSCM) which was originally developed by a pan government group within the Chief Technology Officer Council. The model is aimed at providing the basis of interoperability at the upper ontology level.
Work is commencing now with the aim to publish the guidance in September 2014.
